El Centro, Ca. – January 4, 2023 – City of El Centro Councilmember Tomas Oliva was recently appointed to the Environmental Quality Policy Committee by the League of California Cities Imperial County Division president, stated a press release from CalCities.
Mr. Oliva will serve on the committee for one year. The Environmental Quality Policy Committee reviews air, water quality issues, the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), solid waste and recycling, hazardous materials, coastal issues, utilities, and wildfire policies.
“I am humbled by this appointment and look forward to working with the committee to ensure our Cities are present and heard in the Statewide conversation related to environmental issues,” said City of El Centro Councilmember Tomas Oliva. “I hope to represent our communities and take our voice to advocate for change and improvement in our desert communities.”
City of El Centro Councilmember Tomas Oliva was elected to the City Council in 2018 and is serving in his second term. Mr. Oliva has policy experience in local, state, and federal government.
