The City of El Centro would like to invite Imperial Valley residents to join them on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Brett Driscoll Sidewinder Skate Park, located at 650 Park Ave in El Centro. The third annual SLAM Festival will be from 12:00pm-5:00pm and feature local skaters, bmx riders, artists, and music bands. This year Feromona will play at 1:00pm, The Mirage at 2:30pm, and headlining is Pure Majik at 4:00pm.
Registration for competitions will begin at 11:00am, BMX competition begins at 12:00pm followed by skate competition at 2:00pm. There will be three divisions, beginners, intermediate and advance. All competitors must wear helmets, and 17 and under participants must attend with a guardian to compete. At 2:00pm, there will also be a bike ride led by IV Chain Reaction, everyone is welcome to join in.
The festival will also display local food vendors, informational booths, lawn games, and artists such as Annaka Penner, Miscellaneous Trinkets, LiquiFern, and many more. Humane Society of Imperial County will also be showcasing and have adopt a pet in our future El Centro Dog Park. This is a family friendly event, so grab your lawn chair, blankets, and enjoy a day of Skate/BMX, Love, Art and Music.
