El Centro, Ca. – November 21, 2024:
The El Centro Public Library hosted a StoryWalk event at First Responders Park on Nov. 19, 2024, attracting 51 enthusiastic participants. The program successfully combined literacy and outdoor activity, creating an engaging and memorable experience for attendees.
The StoryWalk featured pages from a children’s book displayed along a walking path, allowing participants to read as they walked. Designed to encourage physical activity while fostering a love of reading, the event highlighted the library’s commitment to serving the community through innovative programming.
“We are thrilled with the community’s response to our StoryWalk event,” said Carla Mason, El Centro Library Director. “It’s wonderful to see families enjoying reading together in the great outdoors. We look forward to offering more programs that inspire a love of books and promote healthy lifestyles.”
At the end of the walk, participants were treated to free books provided by the library, encouraging a love of reading among attendees of all ages.
