The City of El Centro Parks and Recreation Division invites the public to attend SLAM (Skate.Love.Art.Music) Fest 2024, a day of skateboarding, BMX, lucha libre, art, and music, on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Brett Driscoll Sidewinder Skate Park, 650 Park Ave., El Centro.
SLAM Fest will feature a lineup of competitions and exhibitions open to all ages, showcasing the talent of both local and visiting participants in skateboarding and BMX. Event highlights include:
- BMX Competition: 1 p.m. (all ages)
- Lucha Libre Exhibition: 1 p.m.
- Athletes Showcase: 2 p.m.
- Skate Competition: 3 p.m. (all ages)
- Big Air Competition: 4 p.m. (ages 18 and up)
- B.O.D. Obstacle Course: 4:30 p.m. (ages 18 and up)
Registration and practice begin at noon. In addition to the competitions, attendees can enjoy an art walk, various vendors, and live music from DJ Caliboy.
Slam Fest 2024 is free and open to the public, offering a fun, family-friendly environment that
celebrates creativity, athleticism, and community spirit.
