El Centro, Ca. — July 5, 2024 — The City of El Centro, with community input, will unveil a new three-way stop in front of Kennedy Middle School. This initiative is a direct response to concerns raised by residents and parents, demonstrating our shared commitment to safety.
A recent traffic study concluded that a three-way stop was needed at the intersection of Sixth Street, and the parking lot access road south of Kennedy Middle School.
“We continue to listen to our residents and parents of our school children when they bring concerns to us,” said City of El Centro Mayor Sylvia Marroquin. “This new stop sign will help keep our Kennedy Middle School students safer during the school year. We continue to work with our residents to improve the quality of life in the City, which includes safety for our school children.”
The three-way stop will be unveiled on Monday. Electric signs stand a few feet from the new three way stop area to announce the new traffic change.
