The City of El Centro is thrilled to unveil the details of its dazzling annual Mardi Gras festivities, featuring the electrifying 2025 Mardi Gras King and Queen nomination process, a regal coronation reception, and the much-anticipated Mardi Gras Parade that promises to light up the night!
Nominate Your Mardi Gras Royalty
Calling all festive spirits! The deadline to submit your nominations for the fabulous Mardi Gras King and Queen is fast approaching — don’t miss out! Mark your calendars for January 8, 2025, at 5 p.m. Whether you submit your nominations in person at the Community Center, 375 S. First St., El Centro, CA 92243, or via email to anava@cityofelcentro.org, your voice counts!
Nominees must live or work in El Centro and embody the vibrant essence of Mardi Gras with the colorful symbolism of purple (justice), green (faith), and gold (power). Our chosen King and Queen will not only reign over this grand celebration but also shine in media interviews, host the coronation reception, issue an official proclamation, judge parade entries, and ride atop the final float in our unforgettable Mardi Gras Parade!
Join the Coronation Gala
Prepare for a night of royalty and revelry at the Mardi Gras King and Queen Coronation Reception on January 16, 2025, at 6 p.m. in the enchanting City Hall Courtyard, co-hosted with the Imperial Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce. Celebrate the crowning of our beloved monarchs in a vibrant atmosphere filled with laughter, music, and community spirit!
Experience the Mardi Gras Parade and Street Festival
Join us on February 22, 2025, from 5 to 9 p.m. for a spectacular night that you won’t want to miss! The Mardi Gras Parade, coordinated by the City of El Centro with assistance from the IVRCC and Los Vigilantes, kicks off at 6 p.m. with a kaleidoscope of colorful floats, pulsating music, and captivating entertainment that will bring the streets to life.
