Imperial Avenue Complete Streets Draft Plan Available for Community Review

El Centro, CA., January 13, 2025

The City of El Centro has released a draft of its Imperial Avenue Complete Streets Plan, which provides recommendations for improving safety and access along Imperial Avenue for all modes of transportation. This includes pedestrians, bicyclists, families with strollers, individuals with limited mobility using walkers and wheelchairs, and motorists.

The draft plan and a brief overview are available for community review online at bit.ly/ECImperialAve and at the City of El Centro website, cityofelcentro.org. Community members can provide comments via email at ecplanning@cityofelcentro.org or by calling (760) 337-4545.

Funded through a grant from the Caltrans Sustainable Planning Program, the plan will redesign Imperial Avenue from Adams Avenue to Treshill Road. The final plan is expected to be completed by February 2025.

The draft plan is scheduled to be presented to the El Centro Planning Commission on Tuesday, Jan. 14, at 5:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, located at 1275 Main Street. It will then be presented to the El Centro City Council for adoption on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 6 p.m., also in the City Hall Council Chambers. Comments from community members are welcome at both meetings.
