Current action plan
- A San Diego-based electrical contractor is working to source parts to restore power to the mobile home park.
- A local electrical contractor is on standby to assist if required.
- Once parts are obtained, installation may be completed within 12 hours.
- The transformer will undergo safety and load balance testing.
- Ideally, electricity will be restored by tomorrow; however, the timeline may extend if parts are not secured today.
Assistance for Residents
- The park management team has secured 164 rooms for displaced residents.
- Residents have been accommodated in 5 hotels within the City of El Centro.
- Approximately 1,000 residents are estimated to have been displaced.
- Wellness checks are being conducted for residents have chosen to remain on-site.
- The majority of residents had voluntarily self-evacuated by the end of Saturday.
- The American Red Cross is providing support for this operation.
- A security company is being hired to ensure park security and restrict access to verified residents.
- The City of El Centro Police Department will assist with patrol in an effort to preserve life and property.
