The City of El Centro would like to announce the 2023 El Centro Mardi Gras King and Queen, Charles “Chuck” and Carol Fisher. The Mardi Gras Royalty represent “Pro Bono Publico” and embody the commitment to serve the community of El Centro.
King Chuck Fisher is a lifelong resident of El Centro, and has spent his professional career and time in retirement working to better the community of El Centro. He has spent over 40 years in education roles in El Centro as a teacher, principal, and school trustee. He volunteers his time and talent to the City as well. He has served for many years as the Presidents of the Board of CASA, and numerous other roles. His partner in the volunteer business is his loving wife, Carol.
Queen Carol Fisher has spent over 35 years educating the youth of the City of El Centro, serving in numerous educational roles at various grade levels. Carol serves as a board member on the City’s Friends of El Centro Community Services Foundation, where she assists and promotes the City’s library, parks and recreational community programs.
The El Centro Mardi Gras festivities will kick off on February 16, 2023 with the King and Queen Coronation. The event will be held at the El Centro City Hall Courtyard from 5 PM to 8 PM. The Mardi Gras Parade and Street Festival will occur on February 18, 2023 from 5 PM to 9 PM.
The City of El Centro is thankful for the support of the Imperial Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce on both events. We look forward to seeing you and your family at this event! “Laissez les bons temps rouler!”
