El Centro, Ca. – November 6, 2024 – The City of El Centro invites residents to participate in the final community meeting for the Imperial Avenue Complete Streets Plan on Thursday, November 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the El Centro Public Library, located at 1198 N. Imperial Avenue.
This meeting offers community members an opportunity to review and provide input on proposed improvements aimed at enhancing safety, accessibility, and aesthetics along Imperial Avenue. The plan proposes updates designed to benefit pedestrians, bicyclists, families with strollers, people with limited mobility, and motorists alike. Feedback gathered will directly shape the final plan to be presented to City Council in Spring 2025. The project spans from Adams Avenue to Treshill Road and aims to address community-identified priorities for a safer, more beautiful Imperial Avenue.
About the Imperial Avenue Complete Streets Plan
Funded by a grant from the Caltrans Sustainable Planning Program, this plan seeks to preserve Imperial Avenue’s role as a key regional roadway while incorporating safety, access, and beautification enhancements for pedestrians, cyclists, and transit users. The project, set for completion in February 2025, includes assessments of existing roadway conditions and extensive community input to create a design that addresses both City and community priorities.
