City of El Centro Celebrates National Public Works Week with Informational Expo

El Centro, CA., May 15, 2025:

In recognition of National Public Works Week, observed from May 18 to May 24, the City of El Centro will honor the dedicated professionals of its Public Works Department with a series of events celebrating their contributions to the community. The El Centro City Council will formally recognize National Public Works Week during its regular meeting on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.

This year’s theme, “People, Purpose, and Presence,” highlights the individuals who serve with integrity, the mission that drives their work, and the visible impact they have on daily life in El Centro.

As part of the weeklong celebration, the Public Works Department will host its Annual Public Works Expo on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the El Centro Public Library, located at 1198 N. Imperial Avenue.

The Expo will showcase the services, projects, and community impact of each division within the department, including Administration, Engineering, Environmental Compliance, Facility Maintenance, Meters, Motor Vehicle, Streets Maintenance, Wastewater Collections, Wastewater Treatment, Water Distribution, and Water Treatment. This free event is open to the public and allows residents to engage with the staff who help sustain and improve everyday life in El Centro.

The City of El Centro extends its appreciation to the entire Public Works team for their dedication and service to the community.
