El Centro, CA – October 17, 2024 – The City of El Centro has been made aware of an incident in which an individual, falsely claiming to represent the City, knocked on the door of a local resident, stating they were there to collect their ballot.
We want to clarify that City of El Centro employees do not engage in ballot collection or voter outreach of this nature. This is not a service provided by the City of El Centro, and any claims suggesting otherwise should be regarded as suspicious.
Residents are reminded to be vigilant and report any similar incidents immediately. If someone approaches your home claiming to be a representative of the City or any other organization seeking to collect ballots, we strongly encourage you to contact the El Centro Police Department at 760-352-2111.
