El Centro, Ca. – August 5, 2024 – The City of El Centro is excited to announce its Special Events calendar for 2024-2025, featuring a diverse lineup of community events. From the vibrant El Grito celebration to the popular Fire Station Open House and the lively Mardi Gras Street Parade, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The Special Events lineup starts with the El Grito de Independencia, set for 5 p.m. on September 21, 2024, at Bucklin Park. As always, the City of El Centro is collaborating with the Mexican Consulate’s Office in Calexico to coordinate this event.
October will be a busy month with the Fire Station Open House, Senior Appreciation Day, Floating Pumpkin Patch, and Trunk or Treat to celebrate Halloween.
This year’s Dia de los Muertos Celebration will be held at the Downtown Town Square Park on November 1. It will be open to anyone who wants to provide trunk shrines and will include food trucks and more.
The highly anticipated Christmas Tree Lighting and Parade, set for December, will fill the air with jolly spirit.
April will be a busy month with the Children’s Fair, Easter Eggstravaganza, and Floating Egg Hunt, which has grown to be one of the many signature events since its inception a couple of years ago. The Special Events calendar will end with the Summer Kickoff Pool Party in June.
