El Centro, Ca. – May 28, 2024 – An El Centro man was arrested by El Centro Police Officers on Tuesday after a social media post on Monday, May 27, 2024, received considerable attention and alerted the officers to possible animal cruelty case.
On Tuesday, Police Officers spoke with the reporting party regarding the incident. The witness shared the screen-recorded video of the incident with the officer. In the video, the subject was seen kicking the dog more than once. Officers were able to identify the residence and made contact with the suspect. After a thorough investigation, the dog owner was arrested for animal cruelty, and the dog was removed from the residence.
The El Centro Police Department would like to thank the community for being proactive and looking out for the welfare of City animals. The Department takes allegations of animal cruelty very seriously.
