The Economic Development Division of the Community Services Department is responsible for business and economic development activities throughout the City of El Centro. The division is the primary liaison with business owners, property owners, developers and local business oriented organizations to aid in the attraction and retention of businesses.
The division is also responsible for Housing Programs such as the First Time Home Buyer Program and the Owner Occupied Housing Rehabilitation Program. In addition, the division is responsible for Community Development Programs such as Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), the building of the Fire Station #3, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Sports Pavilion, the ECRMC Outpatient Center, the Adult Senior Center, the El Centro “Sidewinder Skate Park” and the development of the new Aquatic Center.
