Fire and Emergency Medical Services

The El Centro Fire Department is an all hazard, all risk department responding to emergencies of every type.  Medical aids, Fires, Hazardous Materials, Traffic Collisions, Rescues and Environmental Hazards are all a part of the everyday duties our firefighters may encounter. Daily training, as well as station and apparatus maintenance is also a significant part of the profession.

ECFD responds to over 4600 incidents annually. The majority of these incidents we respond to are medical in nature, accounting for approximately 75% of the annual total. Fire related calls make up approximately 15%. The remaining incidents are comprised of Hazardous Materials, Rescues, Environmental emergencies among others.
