Commercial Recycling
According to Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle), the business sector generates more than half of the solid waste in California (approximately 68% of waste disposed). While significant commercial recycling already occurs, much of the commercial sector waste disposed in landfills is clean enough to be recycled. CalRecycle recently adopted Assembly Bill 341, implementing a mandatory commercial recycling requirement for medium-to-large businesses and multi-family complexes. To learn more about the legislation and how businesses can divert waste from landfills, thereby reducing greenhouse gas, visit CalRecycle at calrecycle.ca.gov
Electronic Waste Disposal
The City partners with CR&R and the IVRMA to provide a FREE electronic waste pickup and drop-off programs. Electronic waste includes computers, monitors, keyboards, printers, televisions, DVD players, hard drives, fax machines, cell phones, etc.
Residents can schedule a pickup from IVRMA by calling 1-877-732-9253 or calling CR&R at (760) 482-5656. Used oil may also be collected curbside FREE of charge. To schedule a used oil pickup, please contact the CR&R at (760) 482-5656.
