The El Centro Fire Department was established in May of 1908, as a Volunteer Fire Department. Today the department is directed by a Chief and three Battalion Chiefs. We currently respond to over 4,600 emergency calls per year and provide fire protection to over 42,000 El Centro residents in excess of 11 square miles.
