Derek Dessert and Robert Ferrara are two friends that, with their hard work and a little support from friends and family were able to form a partnership and open Valley Premier Storage and Office Suites in El Centro. The business officially opened in October of 2020 and thus far have over 90 customers (and counting) that have made Valley Premier Storage their choice for storage and business needs.
“Valley Premier Storage & Office Suites provide self- storage and office suites on a monthly rental basis. Our goal is to help other small businesses thrive in addition to supporting our residential customers. There hasn’t been any small office space in town that could be rented on a short-term basis. We’ve noticed a lot of folks, like attorneys, sales reps and consultants who come to the Valley a day or two a week but also cover San Diego or Riverside. They need a convenient and quiet place when they are in town. Our facility provides office suites, storage space, conference rooms with large TVs, a kitchen and access to a professional multifunction printer and plotter – in a convenient location near restaurants and major retailers.” states Robert Ferrara.
Aside from meeting storage and business needs, the company also offers Uhaul Truck and Equipment Rental, mailbox rentals, shipping/receiving, printing and will soon be offering Amazon Hub Counter and notary services.
“We’re the Most Secure Self-Storage Facility in the valley. We have over 60 surveillance cameras. Sensors in the storage units that notify tenant and management when someone is in a locked unit. We have an automated locking system (SecureGuard Noke system) that tracks entry and allows you to share your digital key while monitoring your unit. For instance, you can share your key with all of your family members or with an employee. You could be in Cancun and use your phone to send your digital key to a family member so they can access your unit. We’re the newest, cleanest self-storage facility in town offering the largest number of air-conditioned units. We
have the tallest ceiling heights which creates significantly greater cubic volume of storage than our competition (for instance a 10x10 with an 8’ tall roof is 800 cubic ft of storage vs our 10x10 with a 13’ tall roof is 1,300 cubic ft. of storage). Our unit is 62% larger. We’ve seen a lot of facilities have challenges with asphalt parking lots and the heat coming off that black pavement in the summer is terrible, so we spent the extra money on concrete to keep the facility cooler for our customers and to ensure the parking and drive aisles were built to last.” says Dessert.
Aside from Valley Premier Storage and Suites, Derek and Robert are working on utility scale solar farms. Both partners are grateful to the City of El Centro in helping them get their project off the ground.
