El Centro Public Library Programs
Curbside Pickup Service: Curbside pickup service is offered Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Library is closed from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm to disinfect the library.
Check our catalog online @ www.cityofelcentro. org/library. Request your items by emailing: eclib@ cityofelcentro.org or calling the library at (760) 337-4565.
Request up to 10 items per Library Card.
A time will be scheduled for you to pick up your items. Upon arrival, call the library’s number that is posted on the front window. Please wait in your vehicle, give your name, library card number to staff, and description of your vehicle. Library staff will bring your items on a cart. Stay in your vehicle until staff signals for pick up. Please return all library materials in the book drop located in front of the library.
Virtual Storytime: Families are welcome to participate in stories, music, and movement geared toward children ages 0 to 5 years. Storytime is held every Wednesday at 10:00 am with Enriqueta on Zoom.
Storytime: Watch our storytime, anytime online. It’s storytime...from the comfort of your own home. Watch people reading some of your favorite stories. Educational content will be provided to keep your children engaged, entertained and help them learn new things. Posted daily on our Facebook.
1000 Books Before Kindergarten: This program will give your child a head start in school.
Instill the love of reading in your children and spend more quality time together. You can earn prizes and receive free books when participating in this program.
Craft on Tuesday: Craft and Activities packets are distributed every Tuesday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Weekly packets consists of library resources, craft kits, activity booklets, books and educational information.
Lunch at the Library: Lunch at the Library is supported in whole or in part by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services, under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian. Free healthy lunches are distributed to children ages 0 to 18 years. Monday thru Friday from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on the first come, first served basis. El Centro Elementary School District are providing the lunch and snacks for the children. From July 2020 to November 2020 a total of 6,735 lunches and snacks were distributed at the Lunch at the Library program

Zip Book Program: Request, Receive, Read, Return, and Repeat. Zip Books is the fastest option when you request a book that is not owned by the El Centro library. Zip Books requests can be placed for books, Audio books, and foreign language books. Zip books are ordered exclusively from Amazon.com and shipped directly to your home at no charge to you. The funding for the Zip Books comes from the California State Library. All returned Zip Books are cataloged and added to the Library’s collection for others to enjoy.
Ebsco Learning Express: Learning Express provides Practice tests, Tutorial courses, Ebooks (over 250 FREE downloadable ebooks), help students succeed on the academic or licensing tests they must pass.

Libby: The Libby app is the easiest way to get started with digital books and audio-books from your library. Explore Libby for Kids ebooks from nursery rhymes and classic tales to robots and pirates. Ebooks and audiobooks may be borrowed for up to 21 days. Titles are automatically returned to the library when your item reaches its due dates, or you may choose to return it early.
