On March 4th 2009 Caltrans Director Will Kempton issued a letter to the construction industry informing of Caltrans transition to a Race Conscious DBE Program in response to the enactment of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and the contracting opportunities the Act will provide. All City of El Centro Federal-Aid projects are subject to the new Race Conscious DBE Program including new reporting requirements and Good Faith Efforts. We invite businesses to visit the Caltrans website at DBE for guidance on the new RC DBE Program, Good Faith Efforts requirements, up-to-date updates and training opportunities. ADAMS PARK INDOOR SPORTS COMPLEX PARKING LOT

The City of El Centro is inviting bids for the parking lot for the planned Adams Avenue Sports Complex at 750 Park Avenue.

The project will consist of constructing asphalt angled street parking along the north side of Park Avenue and an asphalt parking lot on the site of the Adams Avenue Indoor Sports Complex, along with the associated curbs, gutters, and sidewalks. The parking lot will adjoin the existing concrete parking area fronting the Gymnasium.

SEALED PROPOSAL will be accepted at the Office of the City Clerk, City Hall, 1275 Main Street, El Centro, California until 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at which time all proposals will be publicly opened and read.

A summary of the bids will be presented to the City Council at their meeting of Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 6:00 in the City Council Chambers, 1275 Main Street, El Centro, California.

ADAMS PARK INDOOR SPORTS COMPLEX DESIGN

The City of El Centro is seeking a qualified party to design an Indoor Sports Complex (ISC) and related facilities on approximately 2.2 acres (97,000 s.f.) located between Adams and Park Avenues and 7th and 8th Streets within Adams Park in the City of El Centro.

ADAMS AVENUE IMPROVEMENTS

The City of El Centro is inviting bids for the Adams Avenue Improvements Imperial Avenue to La Brucherie Avenue funded under the ARRA Program.

This project involves cold milling existing street section to a predetermined depth, adding a ¾” asphalt leveling course, a 3/8” ARAM, and 0.1’ ARHM at a 2700 foot portion of Adams Avenue between Imperial Avenue and La Brucherie Avenue in the City of El Centro, CA and construction of Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) curb, gutter, sidewalk, pedestrian ramps, and driveway approaches, along with the relocation and/or adjustment of existing water valves, sewer manholes and all appurtenant work as detailed in the plans and specifications. The completed portion of Adams Avenue will be restriped and marked per plan.
