Library Programs
Bicycle Raffle
During the library’s “Lunch at the Library Program” in December, a bicycle raffle was held. Flyers for the raffle were included in the lunches handed out in the first couple of weeks in December. Participants filled out and returned their raffle tickets via curbside with all their pertinent information. Winners chosen by random and announced on December 18, 2020. Generous patrons Danaye and Daniel Nieto, Jr., and one other anonymous patron, donated the bicycles. Heavenlee Grayson and Isaia Hernandez were winners of a girls and boys bicycle.
Virtual Storytime
Storytime with Enriqueta Nuñez, Library Page, is every Wednesday, 10:00 am via Zoom. Families are welcome to participate in stories, music, and movement geared toward children ages 0 to 5 years. From December 1, 2020 to March 24, 2021, 105 children participated in this program. The stories and songs presented are seasonal, i.e. Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and St. Patrick’s Day.

1,000 Books before Kindergarten
This program is designed to help parents and caregivers prepare their children for one of life’s big milestones, kindergarten! Every child receives reading logs with space to record 100 books. For every 100th book read, the children received a small prize. When they have finished 1,000 books, the child receives a certificate of completion. The program’s purpose is to instill the love of reading in children and spend more quality time together.
In spite of some closures due to COVID-19, the 1,000 Books before Kindergarten program continued, as we were able to accommodate our patrons via Curbside Service. New patrons signed up, new reading logs went out, completed reading logs turned in, and prizes were awarded.
